Toshiba launching its device in the tablet war with their new Android-powered tablet the Folio 100 that is powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and has 16GB of built-in storage with expandable memory via SD card. Toshiba Folio 100 tablet device runs on the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. The new tablet is capable of supporting Adobe Flash 10.1 video and comes with Opera Mobile for simple web browsing.
For those looking to connect their Folio to a television, Toshiba has included an mini HDMI port as well as USB 2.0 and SD/MMC card reader support , DLNA support, accelerometer and 7 hours of battery life . For connectivity, the device serves up mobile broadband (yet to be specified), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 2.1.
The new Folio 100 device measures 10.1-inch across and offers a capacitive multi-touch screen showing 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution with a 1.3 Megapixel webcam. The tablet weighs in at a hefty 760g (1.7lbs). The Folio 100 offers up 7 hours of use and is expected to be available in Q4 of this year in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
