Newly announced tablets from Fujitsu the T580 a new convertible Lifebook Tablet PC.These convertible tablet PCs have been around longer than the slate tablet but as of late the former has been taking some design cues from the latter.

As first look the LifeBook T580 may look like nothing more than a 10.1-inch laptop featuring the traditional clamshell form factor with a beefy Intel Core i5 chip thrown into the mix. However, to the trained eye this device is much more as it features a swivel screen that when closed bares an uncanny resemblance to a traditional slate tablet.

Another interesting tidbit is that the T580 can recognize four points of contact with its dual-digitizer. This signals that it’s using an N-Trig digitizer, which can recognize four points while Wacom is still limited to two (unless that driver upgrade is coming soon). It also offers options for integrated 3G connectivity and GPS. Product is listed on Fujitsu’s website but not available until November.
