I have owned several different desktop and laptop computers from different manufacturers. This is the first Gateway I have ever purchased. I knew that Gateway has a good reputation and now I see why. The construction quality is superb. This Gateway I bought as an Amazon special for $749.00 and it is worth every penny and more. The total purchase price was $749.00 – no shipping fees and no over priced sales tax. (A friend of mine bought the exact same pc at a well-known electronic store for over $1,000.00)
The touch screen is awesome. Amazingly, the screen doesn’t get all that “smudgy” with fingerprints. Even so, I am going to purchase a stylus to use. A bonus is the great way this PC looks – really high tech. And since there is no “tower”, this PC takes up hardly any room. The computer is behind the monitor screen with the screen being almost as thin as a regular LCD flat screen monitor.
The Gateway has all the “bells and whistles” with great CPU speed, ample memory and hard drive space, clear, crisp and vivid color video display, a DVD-RW, built-in webcam and 6 USB ports – yes, six ports! No need for a HUB which some peripherals will not work correctly with.
Additionally, the Gateway comes with Windows 7 installed. Windows 7 is a mass improvement over Vista. We had so many problems with Vista that I was a little leery about Windows 7. If you dislike Vista and wished that you had XP then you will be ecstatic about Windows 7. Windows 7 is very similar to XP but better.
At the price Amazon is offering for this Gateway, I am seriously considering purchasing a second Gateway – that’s how much I like and am happy with this PC. Also, Amazon’s delivery of this PC was excellent. I ordered it through Amazon on 01/31/2010 and received it 01/05/2010 via their Super Savers.
